7-6-2006: I'm gonna be this summer in Valencia at
the 10th
Campus Party, collaborating with the Game Development area.
We're still discussing the contents, but I will be talking very
probably about Advanced Sampling Techniques and Interactive Audio in
Games. And, erm, drinking great amounts of
horchata too xD

28-4-2006: At last
TO:Crossfire
has been released! Go and grab it. You can also see a nice trailer
here

27-3-2006: Too much work makes Pablo a dull boy.
Lots and lots of things coming my way right now, which is kind of
cool actually. Not getting enough sleep, but hey, that's what coffee
is for, isn't it? ;) Here you got a military/suspenseful track I've
been making for a classic
TO map
which will be featured in
Crossfire:
Province

9-1-2006: I have put together a
demoreel so now you can listen in 3
minutes to a bunch of my best music in a single mp3. Check it out =)
24-12-2005:
Aquaplaning
has been one of the winners of the
Fortuna
Sounds
contest, out of more than 500 bands. We'll be getting into the
studio shortly to record some tracks and the song
Hola Chico! will be published in a compilation with all the
other winner songs

5-12-2005:
Meristation
has published the first
preview of El Enigma de la Abadía, which features a lot of new
screenshots. It's in spanish, in case you don't speak the language
it just says the game is gonna be great :P

7-11-2005:
Rachel Cordone
asked me for a track to include it in her new UT2004 capture the
flag map. With a great piratesque look, its name is
Cannon Fodder and you can download the mp3
here

5-11-2005: One of the games I'm making music for,
El
Enigma de la Abadía, has won the
ArtFutura '05
Technology Award. This is one of the themes for the
Scriptorium

22-6-2005: I've been asked to talk about Game
Audio in the
Campus Party
Game Developers Conference, which will take place in Valencia,
Spain. July 26th - 31st. I'll be talking about music, voice over,
sound design, programming... My speech is scheduled for July 29th,
19:00, so see you there!

7-5-2005:
New track for Medina, a
Crossfire map
set up somewhere in the north of Africa. By the way,
Gamestar, the
biggest magazine for gamers in Germany has released a note about
Crossfire in
its latest issue which you can see
here

3-4-2005: One of the projects I've been working
for, TO:Crossfire, has gone public. There is still some work to do
before it is released, but this is a nice first step. The url to the
web is
www.to-crossfire.net.

31-3-2005: A shareware puzzle game I have made the
music and sound design for, The Cursed Wheel, has just been
released. You can go to
www.funmangames.com and give it a try. Here you got the
main theme

18-3-2005: As from today I am a member of the
Game Audio
Network Guild, home of the best game audio professionals. Let's
see if we can make meetings here in Europe as crazy as the ones they do
across the ocean ;)

11-2-2005: I joined the
Sociedad General de
Autores y Editores today. I had been postponing this since I
disapprove of some of their methods, but the new manager of
Aquaplaning wanted us to register our songs with them. Let's
hope it's for the best

31-1-2005: After spending the last couple of
months listening to Seijo Omure Ki, I've composed the track for
James "Psycho" Baxter japanese map, which is gonna be included in
the upcoming project
Crossfire. You can find it
here

17-11-2004: I have encoded in
DivX and uploaded
a video I made back in 2000.
dirdam (32.2mb) tries to show my particular view of the city I
live in (the name is Madrid spelled backwards), quite different from
the stress and haste some people associate with it. Though the tools
I had then were not very good - the samples are from a soundcard
with a 4mb wavetable and the guitar was recorded with an old dinamic
microphone - I guess you'll find it enjoyable

6-10-2004: Aquaplaning has won the national demo
contest of Cadena
100! The CD we sent included the songs
Who and
Capitalist Love. We offered a really nice celebration concert
yesterday night at the Chesterfield Café. Check the pictures and
impressions at www.aquaplaning.tk

14-9-2004:
I've been hired by the school
Ntra. Sra. del
Recuerdo to impart music classes to the 14-15 year old students.
It's gonna be only 12 hours a week, so I'll keep on ringtoning as
usual. The school has an excellent
boy choir (they performed Mahler's 3rd with Zubin Metah at the
National Auditorium yesterday O.O) and a school orchestra is on the
works.

5-9-2004:
Epic Games
has disclosed the mods which will be included in the Editors' Choice
edition of its acclaimed game
Unreal
Tournament 2004, and I'm glad to say that 2 mods I composed
music for are gonna be in it:
Domain 2049
and
Jailbreak

15-7-2004:
www.aunalia.es,
the e-zine I write for, has been awarded by the
Club
Internacional de la Prensa in the Digital Journalism category.
The ceremony was held yesterday night at the Westin Palace Hotel,
and of course I was there. Couldn't miss the free drinks ;)

29-6-2004:
I've recorded a version of the famous
Bach's Air in D. It has a quite fast tempo, the guitar was
recorded live and the rest rendered with
Garritan Personal
Orchestra. By the way, today is my birthday! I'll be celebrating
it next weekend at Amsterdam with some good old friends from the
Tactical Ops team :D
7-6-2004:
Domain 2.0 for
Unreal Tournament 2004 has been released! Lots of new
material, including brand new models and maps. Download it
here.
That's not the only mod I've worked for that has been released
recently: Jailbreak 2003/2004 has also been launched, featuring the
main theme I composed for it, and has already had some bugs
fixed in its Service Pack 1. It supports vehicles and it sure packs
a lot of fun!

4-5-2004:
I have composed a rock track for a small custom racing game for
Eurotaller.
After some changes and tweaks the game will be uploaded to the
Outplane
Multimedia web. You can listen to the fuzzy guitars
here, and this is how the game
looks

21-4-2004:
Domain made it
into the finals of the
Make
Something Unreal Contest 2nd phase!
Elemental
Conflict, which also features some music of mine, had an
Honourable Mention. Also 2 maps from
Domain are
finalists in the Levels section. More info at
Domain's
website.
We're porting
Domain to
Unreal
Tournament 2004 engine at the moment, here you got a screenshot
of the upcoming version

20-4-2004: Yesterday I picked up my
CAP
(Pedagogical Adaptation Course) diploma, music specialty. So I'm a
better teacher now, I have a paper which says so! :P
Also you may want to visit the
aquaplaning
web site, which has been updated with
pictures of last week 1st Anniversary Party, new songs and new
concert dates

20-3-2004: Just finished a piece
that has taken quite a lot of time. It's the
credits theme for the upcoming
project Crossfire. Features a classic epic intro followed by
a remix of Crossfire Main Theme.
Hope you find it interesting
16-3-2004: Here's the
main theme of robs, in a Thomas Newman
style which evolves to an arabic ambience as it follows the intro of
the game. The web of the multimedia development group after the
game, Outplane
Multimedia, is up, even though it's still work in progress

13-3-2004: Home sweet home! From now
on www.pablodelgado.com
will be my homepage, even though
www.pablodelgado.tk will
work for some time too. Change my mail address too: I'll use my
brand new one
pablo@pablodelgado.com :D
16-2-2004: I've been hired to make
the music for the spanish project Robs, a game in the MGS
style. So you'll be getting brand new music for this game very soon
;)

18-1-2004: The year has only just
started and already
aquaplaning
has done several gigs! We played in Madrid pubs like Silikona,
Low and Lamala. Yesterday was our latest performance
which gave me the opportunity to play my brand new Fender
Stratocaster Plus, which sounded great! There are pictures available
of several performances in the "Fotos" section of the
band's website.

12-1-2004:
Elemental Conflict
version 2.0 has been released, featuring the
main theme I composed
and lots of new stuff. Grab it
here!
22-12-2003: A new section of music
has been set up at
Domain website,
holding mp3's of all the themes I've composed for the game (7 so
far). Don't forget to check it out! :)

15-12-2003: I have uploaded a 45
seconds action piece I made for a contest to be featured in
Tribes Vengeance promo videos. If you listen to them, you'll
see they were searching for techno stuff, so my orchestral music
was discarded :( Now you can listen to it here, if you find it nice at least the effort will have been
worth it
15-11-2003: Just finished the theme
for Elemental Conflict, a new ut2k3 mod
created by Tynan
"Dr Crowbar" Sylvester. I abused again the free
synthesizer
Synth 1, now in its version 1.06, and used some choral aaahs
to get that epic feeling I like so much ;)
Go ahead and download it
Elemental Conflict Theme

18-11-2003: Composed the main theme for a
new project, still unveiled, codenamed Crossfire. As you
will be able to notice in the cue, it's another gun and team
action set up. Soon you'll know more about
it ;). Hope you like the Crossfire
Main Theme
10-11-2003: I've been contracted to
ringtone for 8 hours a day (instead of 4 as before) and I've
begun to make the CAP
practices teaching music to 15 and 18 years old teenagers at
Cumbre High School.
Domain has
already released its version Alpha 1.6 and
my brother has set up a new
aquaplaning
web and a
forum. As
you can see, lots of things going on!
17-10-2003: Domain Alpha 1.5 is
about to be released! Features lots of enhancements, including 6
themes composed by me :) Keep an eye in the website
7-10-2003: I made my inscription
for the CAP
(Pedagogical Adaptation Course) this morning at the Universidad
Complutense de Madrid. If I pass it I'll be able to teach in
High Schools (poor little kids if I do hehe)
3-10-2003: It's been officially
announced that the company I work for has been bought by Telefónica
Móviles, and has changed its name to
Telefónica Móviles
Interacciona. Don't panic, I'll be doing the same stuff, but
under a different company name

21-9-2003: The FAMA festival, after
being advertised in 20 Minutos newspaper and even in the
national radio station RNE3! has been a complete success, mainly
because of the great time all of we had :) It's been a very nice
experience that all bands are willing to repeat. If you couldn't
make it yesterday, maybe you'll be able to attend to the next FAMA
edition ;)

13-9-2003: The finalists in the
Phase I of the Original Level Categorie of the Make
Something Unreal have been announced in the Unreal
Technology Web and I'm quite happy to say that 3 of the 10
finalist levels feature my music (DM-Nirvana2, DOM-Aphrodite and
DMN-LazyWaters) and one of the 3 Honorable Mentions too
(DMN-ErrigalDawnAlpha).
Congratz and best luck to all mappers!
12-9-2003: I finished my guitar
studies!!! :D
I passed the last examination yesterday morning and I was
celebrating it with my classmates, who passed the examination too,
until 5am (all of them were girls wohoo)
2-9-2003: We've changed the name of
our little pop band from nrz to aquaplaning (don't ask
me why, i'm not responsible of this ;)) Anyway, we have our next
concert september 20th in Móstoles, Madrid, so if you're around
it will be nice to see you there! Here's the poster

11-8-2003: The Jailbreak
boys contacted me to do a little theme for their upcoming version
of the mod for the ut2k3 engine. I've composed the music that will
be sounding after selecting the Jailbreak game mode, where my dear
friend Emilio "Mars Attack" Molina has performed some
trumpet bits :)
Jailbreak 2003 Theme

16-7-2003: Dr Crowbar's DOM-Venus,
renamed DOM-Aphrodite for its release, is now featured in Clyffy
B's Ownage, congratulations!
Also some impressions about Domain are already popping around:
"Doesn't beat FaceOff in some of the technical aspects but
as far as the overall experience goes it's very atmospheric. Looks
like you're doing a single player campaign? That ought to be very
cool. The music is perfect. The maps are great. Gorgeous, complex,
and well thought out. Objectives are painful, the suspense is
brutal." - ACC, Atari
Forums
13-7-2003: One of the projects I'm
working on, Domain, has already released it's first version!
Visit the web page and download it if you've got ut2k3 around :)
http://www.domain2049.com/
24-6-2003: After meeting some old
friends in a quite unexpected way last saturday, I composed a
piece of music in a very depressed and lonely mood. It's called
The
Vector, due to some screenshots of a colleague's project with
the same name, which were also full of big empty and lonely
spaces.
20-6-2003: I'm glad to say that
some of my themes are gonna be rehearsed in the upcoming S2e,
kind of spanish E3, which is going to be celebrated in Madrid from
June 26th to June 29th.
There will be a stand where music from several spanish composers
for games will be played all the time with a screen where the
artist and title of the theme playing will be shown. More info here
(only available in spanish at the moment)
If you are going to go maybe we could meet there! ;)
5-6-2003: It seems I'm going to do
some music for the ut2k3 cyberpunk mod
Domain, currently in its
alpha stages. I just uploaded the music for the
menu
and credits screen. In both of them
the synthesizer sounds I use are from Synth1.
Very nice, and it's free! :D
One little screenshot of the menu so you have an idea of the style
of the mod

31-5-2003: I got nostalgic and
remade UT intro music. I used an orchestral setup, and only
changed some percussion parts. Hear it
here
9-5-2003: Just passed the guitar
concert exam! :D I performed Giuliani's First Concert for guitar
and orchestra, with Adela González Campa playing the piano part.
I slipped some notes in the last movement, but nothing serious. It
sounded really well!
Ony one exam left to finish the guitar career (woohoo!)
9-4-2003: I've been quite busy
testing my new Behringer B1 microphone. I've uploaded a recording
of Francisco Tárrega's Recuerdos de
la Alhambra I did yesterday to use as background music for a
slide presentation of my last trip to Granada. Hope you enjoy my
performance :)
27-3-2003: Tynan
"Dr Crowbar" Sylvester got in touch with me last
week to ask me for music for his next UT2k3 map DOM-Venus. He sent
me the IR24 of the map and I must say I liked it very much.
Here
is
the music I've done, searching a greeklatin
feeling but at the same time keeping it fast-paced

16-3-2003: Just finished the music
for a nice animation of Kamehan
Studios logo, made by Laurent "Shag" Delayen. Take a
look at it here.

10-3-2003: Wow! 104 visitants from
14 different countries have visited the web in only one day! Thx everyone for your attention :D
9-3-2003: The page is up! :)
back to main
page...
